The people part, on your terms
Plenty of people fish alone because that's the point of it - the quiet, the hours with no phone, nobody talking. Go Fish is built so that works perfectly well. Nothing is shared unless you share it, and no feature waits on somebody else showing up.
But when you do want company, that's the part every other app gets wrong. A feed of strangers is content. Your crew is a reason to go. Add the handful of people you actually fish with, see who's free this week, plan a trip as a group - and settle a challenge with them, whether that's a quick bet for today or a rivalry that runs all season.
Licences, rules and access per water
Fishing rules in Norway sit across hundreds of municipal pages, landowner PDFs and portals. Season dates, minimum sizes, permitted gear, who sells the licence and where you're allowed to park - all public, all scattered.
It's one of the biggest things on our roadmap: pulling all of that into one screen, water by water, checked properly rather than scraped and hoped for. It's not in the app on day one - we'd rather get it right than get it out fast - but it's exactly the kind of unglamorous problem we started Go Fish to fix.

Fishing apps are efficiency tools - better spots, better predictions, a better catch. That's a real product, and we do a version of it too. It's just not why most people fish less than they'd like to.
We're trying to make sure you actually go and have fun going.
Conditions, and a straight answer
Fishing conditions change within hours. Go Fish pulls wind, temperature and pressure into one view for the water you've chosen, so you're deciding with real numbers instead of a guess and a hope.
We're working on turning that into one clean answer - is today worth it, and if not, which day is better. For now, the numbers are right there when you need them, instead of spread across three different apps.
Log a catch without losing the moment
Photograph the fish and the app suggests the species. Confirm it or correct it - that takes seconds, and it happens while the fish is still in your hands, rather than in a notes app that evening.
Time, location, conditions and the gear you used attach themselves. Over a season it becomes something you can actually read: which lure has produced twenty-one catches, which water delivers in October, what your best days tend to have in common.
