Welcome to Go Fish. These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Go Fish mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”), provided by Go Fish AS (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of the Terms, you are not permitted to use the Service.
1. Content and User Contributions
Go Fish allows users to submit photographs, data, and information about catches, fishing spots, and related activities (“User Content”).
By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, distribute, and compile that content. This includes using the data for AI training, analysis, and sharing aggregated and anonymized data with research institutions, universities, and government authorities to support studies of fish populations and conservation.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your User Content complies with all applicable laws and fishing regulations.
2. User Responsibility
You represent and warrant that:
• You are the rightful owner of the User Content or hold all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to publish it.
• All submitted content is accurate and truthful.
• You will comply with all local, regional, and national fishing regulations, including catch limits, size restrictions, protected areas, and seasonal rules.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, or that infringes the rights of others.
3. Fishing Spots and Legal Responsibility
Go Fish provides access to location-based information, including user contributions and algorithmically suggested fishing spots. These locations may include areas with fishing restrictions, protected zones, private property, or seasonal closures.
We make no guarantees regarding the legality, availability, safety, or accuracy of any fishing spot displayed in the app.
It is your own responsibility to verify all applicable laws, regulations, property rights, and safety conditions before fishing. Go Fish AS disclaims any liability for fines, penalties, legal consequences, or other outcomes arising from fishing in restricted or inappropriate areas.
4. AI Features and Limitations
Go Fish uses artificial intelligence to analyze catches (species identification, estimated length, and weight). These are estimates only and should not be used as final or legally binding information.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of the AI results. You are solely responsible for ensuring your catch complies with all fishing regulations.
5. Privacy and Data Use
Your privacy is important to us. The collection, use, and sharing of personal data and User Content are described in more detail in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data processing described therein.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
All rights, title, and interest in the Service (excluding User Content) belong solely to Go Fish AS and our licensors. You are not permitted to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our prior consent.
7. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Service for unlawful purposes or in any manner that violates these Terms.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service, including the accuracy of AI features, fishing spot information, or availability.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Go Fish AS shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to the Terms
We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
